British Mail from Ethiopia

Mail bound for England or other British territories was frequently franked with stamps of British India. Mail was usually routed through Zalia to Aden for onward transmission.


December 29, 1898, written in "The Doctor's Tent" near Harar. January 4, 1899 stamp added and cancelled in Zalia.
B in bars Zalia cancel used by the Indian Postal Administration active in Somaliland during this time.
January 10, 1899 Aden transit. January 22, 1899 Dover Station Office receiver.
2 Anna 6 Piastres franking.
